Third Party Testing

EFP is proud to offer third party testing services for your project. Through our continued leadership in the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and national and local fire and building code committees, our engineers are particularly adept at interpreting and applying governing codes. We work closely with code enforcing authorities and develop a relationship of trust and professional respect. This helps us in the resolution of matters involving occupant safety, accessibility, and property protection. Our team ensures that your building will be inspection ready and code compliant at the time of completion so that there are no delays for the final inspection and the Certificate of Occupancy.

As a provider of third party testing, we will:

Review contract documents/drawings and notify contractors of potential mechanical, construction and fire alarm coordination issues.

Assist contractors with the pretesting of the fire alarm and smoke control systems prior to commissioning of the building.

Generate a running punch list on a pre-determined timeline to assist contractors in the identification and resolution of any installation or construction-related issues.

Assist architectural, mechanical and fire alarm companies associated with smoke control design with construction issues.

Witness testing of the smoke control system as required by the Uniform Building Code (UBC) Section 905 and International Building Code (IBC) Section 909.
